dnTriangleCounter.mel is a Maya MEL script that displays triangle counts for selected objects and all objects in the scene. It only counts polygonal objects and ignores everything else. See it in action (requires QuickTime).

dnPolyhedron.mel is a Maya MEL script for creating polygon shapes based on one of four platonic solids: tetrahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron. (Technically, there is a fifth platonic solid: the hexahedron, otherwise known as a cube. It is not included, because there is already a cube primitive in Maya).

dnWireHelpers.mel is a Maya MEL script that creates a variety of NURBS-based shapes that can be used as control objects in animation. Because they are NURBS curves, the helper objects can be reshaped and modified as needed, and they will not render.

panePop.mel is a default MEL script that handles spacebar toggling of the view panels. This version is a quick hack that gets around a display refresh bug on some ATI and Nvidia cards. It is not a sure-fire fix for the problem, but it does work on some cards if the latest drivers don't clear up the problem.
